Uniswap Wallet Now Available in the Apple App Store

The team behind the decentralised exchange Uniswap said their crypto wallet app has appeared in the App Store.

“The Uniswap mobile wallet has come out of Apple’s jail and is now available in most countries,” the platform said.

The company unveiled the mobile version of the Uniswap Wallet in early March. At that time, the developers said that Apple was delaying the app’s release.

“We presented our app several months ago, and, despite 100% compliance with the specifications [Apple], it remains in limbo,” Uniswap said.

As an alternative, the project released a test version of the iOS wallet for 10,000 users.

According to a post on the Uniswap blog, the app’s features include trading digital assets, tracking market activity, and NFT statistics.

The Apple version also allows users to back up seed phrases manually or via iCloud. The company noted that, to bolster security, they added an extra layer of encryption.

In October 2022, Apple restricted the use of NFTs in apps that do not provide for transaction fees. After that, the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase disabled the sending of non-fungible tokens in its iOS wallet app.

In March, the Uniswap team rolled out the third version of the protocol on the BNB Chain.

In April, external developers dapps gained the ability to create forks of the Uniswap v3 protocol, as the company’s license to the source code expired.
