
Unity Adds Blockchain-Based SDK Tools to Asset Store
The Unity game development platform added 13 new software development kits (SDKs) based on Web3 technologies to its Unity Asset Store. The information is contained in the company\’s press release.

The new ‘Decentralization’ section includes tools from Algorand, Aptos, Flow, Dapper Labs, Immutable X, MetaMask, Solana and Tezos. The new functionality will enable video game developers to integrate blockchain technologies, such as NFT and metaverses, into their products, to enhance gameplay.

MetaMask representatives said that their SDK enables integrating the company\’s crypto wallet into the games themselves, to interact directly with the Web3 segment.

“The gaming industry is growing rapidly, and the Web3 gaming sector is attracting significant investments. Our listing on Unity will bring Web3 value to the gaming industry. This is a completely new era for game developers,” MetaMask said.

Earlier in February, Nintendo outlined the conditions for entering the metaverse market. According to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, this would happen only if they can ensure “wonder and fun” from the gameplay.
