Unknown assailants rammed the fence in front of Sam Bankman-Fried's home

Lawyers for Sam Bankman-Fried said an incident occurred at the home of the founder’s parents in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, California. Reuters reports.

According to the lawyers, three unknown men in a car rammed the metal fencing in front of the residence. Bankman-Fried has been there since December 2022 when a court released him on $250 million bail.

According to the statement, the men got out of the car and told the complex’s security guard: ‘You won’t be able to stop us.’ They fled, and security did not manage to record the vehicle’s number plate.

The lawyers did not specify the date and time of the incident. They expressed concerns about the safety of the FTX founder and those associated with him. In particular, the lawyers drew attention to the demands by a group of leading publications to reveal information about two individuals, who had stood as guarantors for the bail.

“Given the notoriety of this case and the intense media attention it attracts, it is reasonable to suppose that guarantors who are not Bankman-Fried’s parents will also face significant privacy and security issues if their identities are disclosed,” the document states.

Lawyers say the media are ignoring the safety of people associated with the FTX founder.

On December 12, 2022, Bahamian authorities arrested Bankman-Fried at the request of the U.S. government.

As part of the investigation into the exchange’s collapse, U.S. prosecutors charged him with eight counts. The former FTX chief has pleaded not guilty.

Earlier, a Terraform Labs representative said there were attempts by unknown individuals to break into the residences of CEO Do Kwon in South Korea and Singapore after the Terra collapse.
