Uzbekistan resident loses over 1 million rubles hoping to profit from cryptocurrencies

A resident of Uzbekistan became a victim of a fraudster who promised help in buying cryptocurrencies. The information is reported by Investigative Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.

According to law enforcement, the suspect “gained the victim’s trust” by talking about the possibility of profit through cryptocurrencies. The victim handed over 152 million Uzbek sums (more than 1 million rubles at the rate at the time of writing).

The attacker spent the money on his own needs.

Authorities have opened a criminal case for fraud in a large-scale amount. The investigation continues.

Earlier, a resident of Volgograd also became a victim of scammers, who promised her earnings from cryptocurrency.
