Binance NFT to discontinue support for The Sandbox and Polygon

On 26 September at 9:00 (Kyiv/Moscow time), the Binance NFT marketplace non-fungible tokens Binancewill stop the staking program for The Sandbox NFT project.

The day after the support ends, all blocked LAND tokens will be automatically disabled and returned to their owners within 24 hours.

At the same time, the platform will disable the Polygon Network. Refunds will follow a similar scenario.

Users must withdraw their NFTs to the Polygon network from Binance by December 31.

Representatives of the trading platform did not specify the reasons for dropping the projects. More detailed information was promised later.

In 2020, Binance bought virtual real estate in The Sandbox’s gaming space. The company purchased 4012 LAND tokens before the presale.

The exchange’s NFT marketplace added support for Polygon in March 2023. At that time, developers did not include all collections and pledged to expand them over time.

In May, Binance integrated a feature to borrow cryptocurrency against non-fungible tokens.

Subsequently, the trading platform’s mining pool announced the launch of the Ordinals Inscription Service. The move simplifies for users the creation of Bitcoin-NFTs.
