
Grayscale files Form 10 with the SEC to register Ethereum Trust
The investment firm Grayscale Investments has filed a Form 10 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its Ethereum Trust.

The company stressed that this decision is voluntary and not a regulatory requirement. It imposes additional reporting obligations to the SEC. On the other hand, for accredited investors, the holding period for the trust’s securities before sale will be shortened—from 12 months to 6 months.
Total assets under management at Grayscale currently stand at $5.5 billion.

The Bitcoin-based trust, which accounts for more than 80% of the company’s portfolio ($4.53 billion), is the most popular. The Grayscale Ethereum Trust ranks second in investor interest.
