KPMG specialists note the maturation of the cryptocurrency market.

The cryptocurrency and blockchain sector continues to show signs of maturity, despite global and ecosystem problems. This is stated in KPMG’s fintech report for the first half of the year, writes The Block.

Experts noted market sentiment resilience. By mid-year, the level of investments reached $14.2 billion, down from last year’s $32.1 billion, but well above the levels of earlier years.

Specialists highlighted investment rounds Trade Republic ($900 million), FTX ($400 million) and ConsenSys ($450 million).

\n\n\n\n

“Not everyone will survive—especially if there are no clear and strong value propositions. From the ecosystem’s perspective, this will have a beneficial effect, as it will remove part of the disorder created during the bull market euphoria,” he explained.

The report notes a change in the structure of the cryptocurrency market. Retail investors are giving way to institutional and corporate players in capital inflows. In this regard, digital assets are beginning to resemble traditional financial instruments.

Experts noted growing interest in the legalization of Bitcoin by developing countries. The catalyst for this has been the decisions of authorities in El Salvador and Central African Republic.

Experts forecast increased interest in stablecoins. They say corporations are considering such assets as tools to reduce costs and transaction delays, enhance transparency, and due to ease of use.

The U.S. Congress postponed consideration of a bill on ‘stablecoins’.

Earlier, Messari and Dove Metrics assessed the funding volume for blockchain startups in January–June 2022 at $30.3 billion.
