Lens Protocol resumes service after outage

The Web3-focused platform Lens Protocol restored operation after gas usage restrictions on Polygon and congestion at a third-party relayer led to transaction-processing issues.

The outage was subsequently resolved.

Since its launch in February 2022, the service has been used by more than 50 dapps.

The protocol, developed by the Aave team, enables applications to connect to users’ social data via NFTs for authentication and monetisation.

Non-custodial, intermediary-free digital assets provide profile management, subscriptions, and contain ‘a history of all posts, mirrors, comments and other content’.

The protocol is built with modularity in mind, allowing new features to be added, ensuring ‘immutable user content and social relationships’.

Lens Protocol shares many features of existing social networks, including a profile, commenting, re-sharing of content, and more.

Back in July 2021, the Aave developers announced the protocol and regarded it as an alternative to Twitter on the Ethereum blockchain.
