Since the start of the year, the capacity of the Bitcoin Lightning Network’s micropayments network has grown by 70% — from 1,058.68 BTC to 1,806.38 BTC.
In the last 30 days alone, the metric rose by 20%. In the same period, the number of LN nodes grew by 6%, and the number of channels by 12%.
The Lightning Network is one of the most important solutions for scaling Bitcoin, reducing transaction fees, and enhancing the privacy of payments. Many experts believe that the development of this technology will help drive mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.
The LN is used by major exchanges, including OKEx, OKCoin, Kraken and Bitfinex. The latter expanded the capabilities of the solution with Wumbo payment channels.
Earlier, Jack Dorsey did not rule out integrating the Lightning Network into BlueSky or Twitter.
