A Russian man received a car battery instead of mining equipment.

An Amur region resident said he had fallen victim to scammers while buying cryptocurrency mining equipment, according to the МВД.

According to the man, he found an online advertisement for mining equipment priced at 53,000 rubles. He transferred the funds to the seller and received a package, but instead of a cryptocurrency mining device, he found an old car battery inside.

Authorities are conducting an investigation, with a decision on filing a criminal fraud case under consideration.
