Against the achievement Bitcoin’s new all-time high, funds stolen in 2016 from the Bitfinex exchange began moving. Whale Alert recorded 15 transactions totaling more than $135 million.

In total, unknown parties transferred 7,045.48 BTC. The largest was the last transaction of 2,000 BTC ($38.8 million at the time).

Bitfinex’s trading platform was hacked on August 2, 2016. In total, the attackers stole 119,756 BTC ($71.8 million at the rate at the time, more than $2 billion at the current rate).
In May, Whale Alert recorded the first movement of stolen funds in 2020. The attackers sent 30.667192 BTC to anonymous addresses.
In August, transferred to unknown wallets 4,571 BTC and 473.3183 BTC in separate transactions.
In October, moved more than $30 million in bitcoins.
