California Governor to Launch Meme Coin Mocking Trump
He called the U.S. president "the greatest fraudster of our time."
California Governor Gavin Newsom has announced the launch of the Trump Corruption Coin. He revealed this during the Pivot podcast.
“We are about to release a meme coin, and you know what, Donald Trump? Let’s see how your coin performs against ours,” the politician declared.
According to him, Trump Corruption Coin would be the “perfect name” for the asset.
“[Trump] is one of the greatest fraudsters of our time. It’s simply astonishing,” Newsom added.
The governor stated that his token would “outperform TRUMP.” The latter was launched in January on Solana. At the time of writing, its market capitalization stands at $1.6 billion, with a price of $8.4.

Newsom frequently mocks Trump on social media, posting “meme” videos about the president.

Trump in the Crypto Market
Cryptocurrencies have become a major focus of the Trump administration. However, beyond supporting regulatory initiatives, the president and his family are actively involved in the market.
In June, it was revealed that the politician earned over $57 million from the sale of tokens from the World Liberty Financial project. On September 1, the WLFI coin was listed on major crypto exchanges, including Binance and Bybit. In the first few hours, the asset’s market capitalization exceeded $8.3 billion.
At the time of writing, the figure has adjusted to $6.8 billion. The token’s price has dropped by 11.5% in 24 hours, to $0.24.

Previously, the company behind Trump’s social network, Truth Social, filed an application with the SEC for an ETF registration based on cryptocurrency “blue chips.” Another firm associated with the president, Trump Media, announced raising $2.5 billion to purchase bitcoins.
In the spring, Trump hosted a gala dinner for TRUMP holders. Among the participants were TRON founder Justin Sun, Magic Eden CEO Jack Lu, and BitMart head Sheldon Xia. The cost of attending the dinner ranged from $55,000 to $37.7 million.
Back in May, Democrats accused Republicans of ignoring the U.S. president’s conflict of interest.
