NBA Top Shot NFT sales surge 460% as new collection releases

The daily trading volume on the NBA Top Shot NFT platform over 24 hours rose from $829 520 to $4.5 million after the release of the new collection on October 14, according to CryptoSlam. The rise was more than 460%.

The Run It Back 05-06 collection focuses on the best moments from the 2005-06 season. The champions that year were the Miami Heat, featuring Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal.

The collectible items are sold for $169 each and also include four moments from the ‘archive set’ with historic NBA events.

On October 17, the NBA Top Shot team announced on Twitter that Run It Back 05-06 is selling at a rate of 7 items per minute, and total sales volume has approached 10,000 units.

The peak daily trading volume on the platform was recorded on February 22, when the figure exceeded $45.7 million.

Back in March, the NBA Top Shot developer, Dapper Labs, attracted $305 million in a round featuring NBA legend Michael Jordan and Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant.
