Number of addresses with more than 1,000 BTC hits an all-time high

The number of addresses holding more than 1,000 BTC reached a new record at 2,200.

This suggests that large players are reluctant to realise profits at this stage, according to Arcane Research.

There are 2,096 addresses holding from 1,000 to 10,000 BTC. There are 104 addresses holding more than 10,000 BTC.

This metric fell during rallies in 2013 and 2017, when whales sold Bitcoin to retail investors.

In the Arcane Research weekly newsletter also notes a continuing rise in DEX trading volumes. Last week they totalled $2.8 billion. Uniswap accounted for 55%. It is followed by Curve (16%) and Balancer (15%).

The weekly volumes on decentralized exchanges are up 575% over the past two months. @UniswapProtocol is the dominating platform in the space, accounting for more than half of the total DEX volume.

Earlier in Arcane Research recorded a rise in the number of searches for the phrase ‘buy crypto’ (buying cryptocurrency). At the same time, users show greater interest in altcoins.
