On Tuesday, 1 February, the coins stolen in 2016 from the Bitfinex exchange were moved. The Whale Alert service recorded more than 20 transactions.

According to Blockchair, at the time of writing the hackers had moved 94 643 BTC to a new wallet. At current prices, the value of these assets exceeds $3.6 billion.
Previously, the hackers moved funds in April 2021, after listing of the Coinbase bitcoin exchange on Nasdaq. Then the first cryptocurrency retraced from its highs, and in the Telegram channel Goldfoundinshit it was reminded that such news typically triggers a dump.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s price hovered around $38,300. In the last 24 hours, BTC rose by 3.4%, according to CoinGecko.
Bitfinex was hacked on 2 August 2016. In total, the attackers stole 119,756 BTC ($71.8 million at the time, more than $4.6 billion at current prices).
In May 2020, unknown actors sent 30.667192 BTC from the stolen funds to anonymous addresses. In August, 4,571 BTC and 473.3183 BTC were moved.
Earlier in October that year, the attackers moved bitcoins amounting to more than $30 million , in December — in total 7,045.48 BTC .
