Poll: 38% of Russian investors view the digital ruble rollout negatively

Many Russian investors believe that the digital ruble will be inconvenient for the population, and that its introduction will increase the number of frauds. This is reported by “Vedomosti” citing a survey by the Investing.com portal.

According to the study, 35% of respondents support the initiative and believe that cash is outdated.

38% of respondents view the rollout of the digital ruble negatively. Critics doubt the effectiveness of the system designed by the central bank to ensure its operation.

Moreover, more than half of investors think that using the digital ruble for social payments will be inconvenient for the recipients themselves.

29% of respondents acknowledge that the new asset could ease the process of investing in the stock market, but the majority believe that the digital ruble will have no impact on it.

More than half of those polled fear that with the introduction of the digital ruble the level of fraud and the number of hacker attacks will rise. A quarter of respondents believe that these risks can be mitigated through educational efforts by the state and the central bank.

According to the Center for FinTech and Digital Economy Research at SKOLKOVO-РЭШ, half of Russian residents ready to use the digital ruble from the central bank.
