State Duma does not rule out experimental legalization of Bitcoin
Under the law on experimental legal regimes, cryptocurrencies could be legalized to assess under tight control how the elements of this infrastructure operate. This was stated by Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma committee on the financial market, at an RBC conference.
«If we understand during testing that all this work is not justified, then all of this can be halted. The proposal will be debated and, quite possibly, implemented,» stressed Aksakov.
At the same time, this year, under the Law on DFA, the issuance of the first secured digital assets is expected. According to the official, this is an alternative path for the development of the crypto market in Russia, which does not worry the central bank and does not create risks for citizens and entities.
Earlier, Anatoly Aksakov said that the fate of mining and bitcoin exchangers in Russia requires discussion, but their legalization could bring positive changes to the country’s economy. The Duma’s final stance on this issue will be formed within six months.
