Survey shows 63% of Russians want to buy cryptocurrencies.
Most Russians are willing to buy cryptocurrencies, and about half are open to using the digital ruble as a payment method. This is according to the results of a survey by Otkritie Bank, writes ТАСС.
63% of Russians want to try buying digital currencies amid their rise in price. 14% do not intend to deal with cryptocurrencies under any circumstances.
Seven per cent of respondents already have experience buying and selling cryptocurrencies.
The majority (53%) are neutral about the possibility of making the digital ruble a new payment method. 47% are ready to use the asset to pay for goods and services.
15% of respondents are not ready to engage with the digital ruble. The main reasons are fraud risks, a lack of understanding of how to use it, and distrust of digital currency, the respondents said.
Residents of Saint Petersburg are best informed about the digital ruble (48%), with the North Caucasian Federal District and the Volga Federal District the least informed. More than 65% of residents in these regions know nothing about the digital ruble.
57% of respondents believe that digital currency will eventually displace ordinary money. 22% are confident that this will never happen.
The survey involved one thousand men and women aged 18-65 across Russia.
As reported in the Septemberопросу IDF, 10% of Russian bank clients want to invest in cryptocurrencies.
