Twenty residents of Saratov Oblast lost about a million rubles to cryptocurrency scammers

The Saratov Oblast Ministry of Internal Affairs said there has been a rise in fraud linked to investments in cryptocurrency.

According to law enforcement, unknown individuals contact victims via social networks, offering to invest in digital currencies.

One local resident transferred 100,000 rubles to the account specified by the criminals, after which they deleted the correspondence and ceased to respond.

“In just the last few days, 20 residents of the region fell for such a ploy, handing over about a million rubles to the scammers,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

Earlier, an employee of a large company in Samara transferred to Bitcoin scammers 1.3 million rubles.
