
YouTube opens vacancy for director of Web 3.0 product deployment
YouTube, the video-hosting platform, has posted a vacancy for a director of Web 3.0 product management. The listing published on LinkedIn.
The company requires a specialist with 15 years of experience and a background in consumer-facing online goods and cryptography. In particular, the candidate should have skills in ‘buying, owning and trading cryptocurrencies, NFTs and tokens’.
The expert will be tasked with ‘defining, communicating and implementing the vision, strategy and roadmap for Web 3.0 on YouTube’.
In January, it emerged that the video hosting was exploring the possibility of NFT-related features.
Subsequently, the service’s product director Neil Mohan suggested that the integration of non-fungible tokens could monetize content.
Earlier, similar plans were announced at Meta.
