Over 12,000 BTC moved from Bitfinex hack

On Wednesday, April 14, as bitcoin prices hit new records, coins stolen in 2016 from the Bitfinex exchange were moved. In total, the hacker moved around 12 200 BTC, according to the Telegram channel Goldfoundinshit.

The total value of these assets at the time of writing is about $770 million.

Whale Alert registered several dozen transactions, the largest of which was 1 241,37 BTC.

Goldfoundinshit noted that such news typically prompts a dump.

«Given the widespread euphoria around Coinbase listing, trimming the wings of the longs was a big temptation», the Telegram channel team argues.

Bitcoin price pulled back from the highs reached, briefly dipping below $62,000.
