
Survey finds that 86% of American adults have heard of cryptocurrencies.
Since 2015, the share of American adults familiar with Bitcoin has risen from 48% to 86%, according to a Pew Research Center survey.

The study was conducted among 10,000 U.S. adults from September 13 to 19, 2021.
A quarter (24%) of respondents said they were well acquainted with cryptocurrencies. Only 16% reported investing in digital assets, and 13% were not at all familiar with the crypto industry.
Men showed greater interest in cryptocurrencies than women — 22% vs 10%, respectively. Almost a third (31%) of Americans aged 18 to 29 have bought digital assets at least once.
Earlier data from the UK\’s Financial Conduct Authority showed that most young British investors enter the cryptocurrency market due to the hype in social media and news.
Investments in bitcoin have allowed some Americans to quit their jobs, according to a Civic Science study.
