Trustee Plus to Give Away 5,000 Free Virtual Crypto Cards
The Ukrainian crypto neobank Trustee Plus will launch a virtual card that enables spending digital assets. According to representatives of the company, ForkLog UA reported.
The crypto card is issued within the European Economic Area. Linked to the user’s crypto balance via Google Pay or Apple Pay, it automatically transfers the euro equivalent to the merchant’s account at the time of the transaction. In Ukraine, the euro will be automatically converted into hryvnia.
The developers said they mainly targeted the card at Ukrainians abroad who frequently face difficulties accessing banking services.
“We are convinced that cryptocurrencies for everyone will become as much a part of daily life as fiat, but with much greater possibilities,” said Trustee Plus.
The first 5,000 Ukrainians will receive the virtual card completely free, with the option to verify via the state service “Diia”. Registration is already available in the Trustee Plus app and will run through March 21 inclusive.
In the future, a one-time fee of around €10 will be charged for the card.
In August 2022, the WhitePay platform, part of the WhiteBIT ecosystem, launched cryptocurrency payments for goods in major electronics chains in Ukraine, including Techno Їжак and Stylus.
