The prize fund for the first such event will be $60,000. It will take place on April 9 as part of UFC 273 in Jacksonville, Florida.
The rewards will be distributed as follows:
- 1st place — $30 000;
- 2nd place — $20 000;
- 3rd place — $10 000.
The winners will receive Bitcoin at a fixed USD amount. Transactions will be conducted on Crypto.com.
Among participants in the fan vote, early access to the NFT drop, UFC gift cards and a three-month free subscription will be raffled.
UFC will retain traditional fiat bonuses, including for Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night.
Earlier, in July 2021, the UFC and Crypto.com signed a partnership agreement. The collaboration envisages placing the platform’s logo on fighters’ gear, as well as on the apparel of cornermen and octagon girls.
In November 2021, Crypto.com released the first UFC NFTs.
Previously the platform signed sponsorship deals with Formula 1 and, separately, with one of its teams Aston Martin Cognizant. Crypto.com also collaborates with UFC, Italy’s Serie A, clubs Paris Saint-Germain, Philadelphia 76ers and the Montreal Canadiens.
In March 2022, Crypto.com became the official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
