Bitcoin price hits $45,000 as market capitalization falls below $900 billion

Bitcoin extended its decline — the price touched $45 000 on Bitstamp.

As of writing, bitcoin is trading around $47 700. The market capitalization of digital gold has fallen to $885 billion.

According to the bybt service, over the last 24 hours liquidations in the cryptocurrency market totalled $5.38 billion, of which bitcoin accounted for $2.38 billion.
